Week 1 Reflection:

Feel GUUD. Look GUUD! Where to even begin? I have learned so much in these past few days. Learning from Fernando Garcia Sada is a privilege since he is an incredible entrepreneur who has had great success with his companies. Throughout the first week, I attended meetings, talked to people, and had to use my imagination to think about how this new project would look in the future. It is truly remarkable to be able to see and learn how a company is starting from zero. The project that I have been working on is called GUUD. This new start-up project is a new app regarding health and wellness with biomedicine. GUUD is the name of the app that Fernando is trying to create. His goal is for this app to be the best wellness app in the world. 

The basis of a successful company is a positive and happy environment. The way Fernando does this with his team is very creative and fun. To start, the building in which the offices are located has a slide coming in and out of every floor—not going to lie. It is cool! Fernando designed the building to have each floor be a different habitat. Floor one is called a beach, and all its decorations are related to the beach. Even the bathrooms have mirrors in the shape of sunglasses. Each conference room is called a famous beach in Mexico. He told me that the whole point of it was to create an environment where the people would feel comfortable, which would make them work better. This is one of the things he mentioned that he believes is the base of a successful company. The other thing is something we practice at Proctor too, which was a good coincidence. They call each other by their first names. This establishes a connection with all the workers making it clear that they are all equals and that no one is better. I love how Proctor does this as well. I am more connected with my teachers and have a better relationship with them. 

The dream that Fernando has for this app is to be the most famous wellness app in the world. With all the hard work he has put into the creation of this app and all the things that go alongside it will be very successful. The medication that helps with weight loss is called Silti. After about six years of waiting, the formula was approved by the FDA. This formula had to go through a series of phases where it was tested on animals, then on a small group of humans, and at the end, on a larger, more diverse group of people. The weight loss formula worked! This idea is revolutionary since the world has a massive problem with obesity. If GUUD gets launched and reaches its targetted audience, it can have a huge impact on the planet. In the United States, famous people are showing through social media that they have found a medicine for weight weight loss that works. This is Semaglutide, sold in the forms of Ozempic and Wegovy, which is injected into the body. There are many concerns regarding this medication, the first being that it's actually meant to help people with diabetes. The other thing is that it is costly. The price of the packet that GUUD is selling is considerably lower and is actually meant directly for weight loss. I'm excited to see what week two has to hold!
